Presenting a new wave of experimental beats, The Blackedge’s second EP release “Valkyrie” was developed within the theme of the Valkyries in Old Norse Mythology.

For context, the Valkyries are responsible for collecting the souls of humans who die during battle and return the souls they collected to Valhalla, where such souls become Einherjar (humans who fight for Odin).

Each track within this EP encompasses a uniquely sampled voice to surface its own profile behind it. Each profile, or track carries it’s own direction, vibe, and energy flows within the percussions, drums and dynamics. Not traditionally sampled, The Blackedge reworks and flips every beat to show a different side of his work, varying between bright, heavy and pulsating instrumentals.
